Schwarze Kirsche, Preiselbeere und Zwetschge prägen die Nase, begleitet von feiner Würze und kandierten Zitrusnoten. Am Gaumen saftig und elegant, mit rotbeerigem Touch, feiner Extraktsüsse und seidigen Tanninen. Die kalkige Mineralität sorgt für Spannung und Frische, das Finale wirkt salzig-zitronig, lang und präzise mit grossem Reifepotenzial.

Troplong Mondot gehört zu den spannendsten Namen Saint-Émilions – vor allem seit der stilistischen Neuausrichtung der letzten Jahre. Hier geht es nicht mehr nur um Kraft, sondern um Balance, Frische und Präzision. Auch 2025 zeigt wieder, wie eindrucksvoll dieses Terroir sprechen kann: jetzt schon ein Wein mit Zug, Tiefe und echter Grösse.

The 2025 Troplong Mondot is one of the most finessed wines I have ever tasted here. Dark, ample and explosive, with mind-blowing purity, the 2025 simply has it all. Hints of dried herbs, chocolate, menthol, licorice and blackberry infuse the wine with remarkable concentration and pure power. Even with all its natural richness, the 2025 is not at all heavy. A totally stunning Saint-Émilion, Troplong Mondot is very clearly one of the wines of the vintage. Harvest started on August 28 (the earliest ever) and wrapped up nearly a month later on September 25, which illustrates how diverse the terroirs are here. Aging was in 50% new oak, 40% 20HL foudre and 10% once-filled barrels. Tasted two times.

Deep dark ruby garnet, opaque core, violet reflections, subtle edge brightening. Fine nuances of black cherries, delicate cranberries, a hint of plums, delicate spice nuances, candied orange zest, inviting bouquet. Juicy, good complexity, elegant, red berry touch, fine extract sweetness, silky tannins, salty-lemony finish, great freshness, you can feel the limestone, long lasting, great length, red berry aftertaste, sure maturity potential.

Picked between August 28 and September 25 (surely one of the broadest ranges in Bordeaux this year, but logical considering the estate's different altitudes and aspects), the 2025 Troplong Mondot is one of the wines of the vintage. Exhibiting a deep bouquet of blackberries and plums complemented by floral accents of lilac, iris and subtle spices, it's full-bodied, deep and dense, with a brooding core of fruit girdled by bright acids and sweet but abundant tannins. A blend of 85% Merlot, 13% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2% Cabernet Franc, it will rival the 2022, though in vintage signature the two years are very different.

Vinifikation
Der Jahrgang 2025 in Saint-Émilion war geprägt von einem frühen Vegetationsstart und einem warmen, teils sehr trockenen Sommer, der für eine gleichmässige Reife und hohe Konzentration sorgte. Kühlere Phasen gegen Ende der Saison bewahrten die Frische und ermöglichten eine präzise Ausprägung der Aromen – ideale Bedingungen für strukturierte und zugleich elegante Weine.
Bei Château Troplong Mondot trifft dieses Jahrgangsprofil auf ein herausragendes Terroir aus Kalkstein und Lehm auf dem Plateau von Saint-Émilion. Die Cuvée besteht aus Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon und Cabernet Franc. Ziel der Vinifikation ist es, die kraftvolle Struktur des Merlot mit der Frische und Präzision des Terroirs zu verbinden – ein Ansatz, der zu einem Wein mit Tiefe, Spannung und klarer mineralischer Handschrift führt.
